I wanted to write about the variable combination that made up the social factor of “continuous thoughts of, with the lack of actions towards”. As I was writing about, how in order to start to make changes in your life, you must first focus on the things that you would like to change. Then you must focus on how you would actual alter those things to obtain the changes that you want in your life. Once you have your goals in mind, then you must put those plans into motion to make this process begin. The point of this post was to be that, even if you constantly think about something that you want to do, but do not make any actions towards that change, then it will never happen. No matter how much you may focus on it. Then I wanted to go into the reasons why or the “inner drives” that would cause a person to go against their need for change, which will cancel each other out. This is what causes a person to remain “still” or stay in their some “position of life”.
As I was going through my notes and reference books, I decided that I needed to take a mental break so I started surfing the web a little. Then I came across this site written by Matthew Geib, he had a post titled “Ten Things Non Achievers Do”. As I watched the video and read the list of the ten things that a person can do in order to not achieve their goals. I realize that these were more of ”mental actions” and less like “physical actions”. Which got me thinking about the variable combination that makes up the social factor “continuous thoughts that cause still movement” which means “to remain the same without change”. These can be seen to a lot of people as mental blocks. I wrote in my comment to his post how people can ”unconsciously sabotage themselves”. Which lead me to think about the “ratio of thoughts” or “thought ratio” that a person can have. So yes you can “constantly think about” the changes that you want to make, but if at the same time you are “constantly unconsciously thinking about” how it will not work, you will prevent yourself from even trying to do it. The ironic part about all of this is that you will not even realize why this is happening.
Understanding this “mental process” is as simple as understanding 100 + (-101)= (-1) or 100 – 99= 1. So what is your “thought ratio”, and how does it affect your physical actions? That is a good question to ask yourself. It is human to have doubts, concerns, and even some paranoia. It is just when those thoughts start to out number your “motivational drives” and your “desire for change” in your lifestyle, that is when you need to do some recalculating in your life and adjust your “thought ratio” to better suit your needs, in order to improve your way of living. Of course this is not going to be easy, but if you think that more then you think it can be done, then it will not happen anyway. If you would like to learn more about the “Ten Things Non Achievers Do’ written by Matthew Geib go to http://www.matthewsmatters.com . No matter what you do, be it work, relationships, or just daily life knowing how to stay away from these ten thoughts will greatly improve your situation. Thanks for your time and talk to you later.

I always have this in my mind that one of the best way to become successful is to think positive things in everything. This would encourage you to persevere and determined to achieve your success. In my previous experiences, negative thoughts does no good to you but only discouragement. So you should have to get rid of that and think positive things!

Hey Marcus, while your equation diagram appears to be in a non-english language and thus I can not read it, I enjoyed your discussion and break down of the concept behind why thinking positive is one of the keys to success.. and why taking action is the other! Great stuff even if a little heady!

Thank you for your time,
The diagram is just a social equation that represents conflict of a person’s thoughts. It shows that if you have more of one kind it can lead you into a repeating pattren of actions, while if you have more of another it can allow you to move past that point. I only put things like that so others can see what social mathematics looks like. Thank you again

Hi Marcus! Your illustration looks like Greek to me or algebra equations, but I am keenly interesting in Social Mathematics to understand our behaviors. It seems to go hand in hand with clarify goals and disciplining ourselves to take right actions to get the job done. And it blends quite nicely with my recent blog post about the ABCDE Method.
Thank you so much for stimulating me and others!

What I try to explain is that social math is done by everyone, every day, all the time. Even just by talking to someone you are causing something to happen. Social mathematics is the method that is used to write it out. The one thing I want to do is explain how we are dominating factors in our own lives. By understanding the nature of social math, you can use it to change your life, to be the one that you want. Like the ABCDE method by causing forced actions, and eliminating others you are altering your reality to the one that you desire.

Hello Marcus
Excellent post illustrating how our thought effect our actions and the out come. Dr Robert Anthony says when you recognize that opposite use an action called flip switch to reverse your thinking. When you flip switch change your thought to a thoguth that produces a good feeling.

Wow, those negative self-sabotaging thoughts can really screw us up and we will not even know it. Hypnosis CD’s can be extremely effective in re-programming the subsconcious mind. It’s like when your parents or someone in authority told you repeatedly that you were good at something or you were “bad” at something, then eventually, that became programmed into the subconcious mind as a belief. Hypnosis CD’s can be a way to undo any negative thought patterns. No I don’t sell hypnosis CD’s. Maybe someday? Reading positive literature, blog posts and taking action are also crtical. Small steps of success can be another way to change someone’s self image!
Thanks,
Jupiter Jim

When I first came across your blog Marcus, I almost didn’t stop and read. I have this mental block with math.
However a particular phrase caught my attention when I was skimming. “adjust your “thought ratio” to better suit your needs,”
I am definitely going to remember that one as it is so much easier to comprehend! I can adjust way better than I can change. Sometimes I know it will only take one thought to have a better ratio. It just doesn’t seem like as much work when I phrase it your way!

Hey Marcus,
Love your blog, it has a very unique feel and tone.
I agree with you 100 percent, I see so many people work so hard on coming up with goals and setting up “action” plans and yet when we look back they have often taken little or even No action.
We are emotional beings, and as such we often let our emotions get in the way of our progress. The trick is, as you have stated, to identify those emotions which are holding us back and then correct them by “taking action” forcing a positive change in our emotional state which will then drive us closer to our goals.
Thanks for sharing your unique prospective on this popular subject.

I like how you said ” we are emotional beings” and how it can affect us. The one things I have not talked about in my posts yet is the six parts of self. Which is the make up of a person personality, one of those parts is emotional. As with all of them anyone can start a chain of events with in ourself. Thank you for your comment.

Nice analysis, Marcus.
You mention that it won’t be easy to rid ourselves of negative thought processes. This is true. In fact, it’s always difficult to stop doing something… because usually whatever we are doing on a regular basis has become “second nature” or habitual. And this is predominantly because of its subconscious underpinnings.
Rather than trying to undo or unthink a negative, it is usually more effective to begin doing, or even over-doing its positive opposite. Focusing on doing what’s right and beneficial is generally far more helpful than focusing on undoing what is wrong and destructive.
Thanks for your provocative insights, Marcus.

Ah Marcus,
I can see the “notes” of your thoughts playing as you write about a very complex, yet simple concept that most of us struggle with daily. Knowing what that self-sabotage within one’s self is a beginning point. Mathew writes an insightful list to ponder and like you said – may help someone to create change. Your post got me thinking about a few things which is the joy of reading other people’s blogs and the value that’s experienced ..

Hi Marcus. Thanks for sharing about the thought ratio. It is really important to keep thoughts (conscious and non) and actions focused towards what it is that we are trying to accomplish. I know that when I meditate, an after-effect is that I get a clearer picture of what is happening sub-consciously. Since I think the un or subconscious is affected more by symbols I’ll use those to help expel any damaging ideas. TC – Rob

Excellent article Marcus! You are a master social mathematician. As I ponder what I’ve read, I think this post would be beneficial for people who lack understanding of the law of attraction. It’s not as simple as “you BECOME what you think about” . As you so eloquently stated, it has to do with our subconscious, which is guided by our (conscious) thought ratio. People usually prove to the world what they secretly (sub-consciously) believe about themselves. Thanks for sharing your brilliance!
