The “six parts of self”

The other day I was talking about the book that I had written and how I talked about the “personality mapping chart” in it, which is a graph that is used to locate extreme points.  I was just talking about it like I was talking about the weather.  Totally forgetting that I have been doing this for two decades and no one else knows what I am talking about.  So if you have time I would like to explain to you a little about what the “personality mapping chart” is all about and how useful it is to do from time to time.  Let me start with some fundamentals.  The most important factor in social mathematics is the original unit, which is a single person.  The single person is where it all starts everything else is just a extinction of the original unit.  In this plan of existences the whole of a person is their personality which is the particular combination of emotional, attitudinal, and behavioral response patterns of an individual.  In social mathematics a person personality is broken down into six parts or areas of life.  Everything that can and will happen in your life will fall under one or a combination of two or more of these areas of your personality.

This six part of self are, Social refers to a characteristic of living organisms. It always refers to the interaction of organisms with other organisms and to their collective co-existence, irrespective of whether they are aware of it or not, and it does not matter if the interaction is voluntary or involuntary.  This is know as an ecosystem and yes we do have a human ecosystem that YOU are part of.  Mental which is referring to aspects of, or things related to, the mind.  This is also related to Knowledge which is a familiarity with someone or something, which can include information, facts, descriptions, and/or skills acquired through experience or education.  It can refer to the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.  Financial which in social mathematics is your needs, wants, desires, an obsessions.  This area of a person is all about obtaining, having, and maintaining.  When you think about this part of self try not to think about money itself.  Emotional  which can be seen as the complex personal experience of an individual’s state of mind as interacting with internal and external influences. In humans, emotion fundamentally involves physiological arousal, expressive behaviors, and conscious experience.  Emotions are associated with moods, temperament, disposition, and motivation.   Physical may refer to the physical structure of a human, any aspect of an object or substance that can be perceived without changing its identity, meaning your environment.  Also it can be referred to the five senses, personal appearance, or personal health.  Spiritual in social mathematics refer to any concept of many religions, but it is just what you believe it, no matter what it may be.  These are the “six parts of self” and these are the areas that make up yours, mines, and everyone else’s personality.

By combining these “parts of self” you will be able to represent the thirty-six “states of being”.  Once you get there then you can start to figure out for yourself which states you choose to exist in the most.  In order to do this you must take out some time for yourself to study yourself.  You have to turn off the cell phone and the computer,  make sure everyone is gone or away from you, and find you a place where you can be alone with yourself.  Why would you want to do this?  Because this is the exercise and the the idea of trying to do it is the trigger.  Once you get to this step then you are at the place where you can start to relearn yourself.  If you cannot even get here then there is not reason to explain the rest.  Now before you start to label this, it is not about meditation.  It is actual taking out the time to learn, know and understand yourself.  We spend so much of our time trying to figure out everyone else, that we forget about the most important person in our life.  Which is us, or YOU.  You have to understand that nothing will ever get done in your life without YOU.  So the better you are aware of yourself, the better you can maneuver yourself through life.  So the whole idea of YOU mapping your personality is just a tool get you there.   TTYL

  118. Hi .Unique and very interesting post! i totally agree with you with this statement “you must take out some time for yourself to study yourself”. yes, we really have to take the time for a while to know ourself deeper. i could not agree with you more ! this post really tackles more about us so everyone could really relate and enjoy reading

  119. Hello Marcus

When I read your words, the better you are aware of yourself, the better you can maneuver yourself through life, I thought of these words, know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Knowing the truth about self gives us the freedom to be who we are. You have given solid information that helps one to know the truth about self. Using mapping your personality sounds like something that will help one experience the freedon to be who they are.

    Thanks

  120. Great post, Marcus! I must admit that I am very new to the world of social math, so this is a fascinating post. That being said, I’m just not sure how you get to 36 states of being. Wouldn’t it be a lot more than that, because while there are six levels and six parts, wouldn’t it be 216 because of the way they all connect? If I am wrong, please let me know. I’m just trying to wrap my head around this fascinating science.
Steve Nicholas recently posted..Born on Third

    • Hey Steve,
YES, you are absolutely correct, there is way more states of being then 36. It is more like 27,216 that is if you use (6 to the 6th power) or (6x6x6x6x6x6). I want to say thank you so much so catching that, but now I have to explain why I only use the first 36. I do explain this a little in the book that I have written, but even then I only go to the third symbol or degree. The reason why is because I do not want to teach people social mathematics, but explain the concept on what it is base off of. Which is social math.

My whole goal is to get people to become more aware of themselves and the world around them. That is why I only stick to the frist 36, which is what is being used and how it is being used. I want them to figure out the why, because this is how they we become more aware of themselves. If I start going into the next levels then I will start to bore them or scare them off, and that is not why I started this.

If you would like to learn more about social mathematics itself please go to http://www.doingsocialmath.com , Ann Costelly will answer any questions on the Fundalmentals of social mathematics. I will also, but it is more about affect with her, while I like to deal with the cause of it.

I want to say thank you so much for your comment, it was both spine jecking and sparking. Please come by again and ask all you would like, no matter what it is, TTYL

Sadie here in France, this is a really interesting website! I like to do things myself to ‘pay it forward’ in my own way – I never knew there were organisations dedicated to it… I’m going to have a look at the websites you’ve mentioned.
Sharing our knowledge and the things which we have learned from other people with other is part of participating in life for me :)

    • Hey Leo,
What people tend to forget is that anytime you what you better yourself, you have to make some YOU time to focus on yourself. TTYL

  123. Interesting concept, Marcus.

I think it’s a law of physics that when anything moves, the entire universe is altered. Attitude acts like a projectile force. It’s force and direction change its environment in ways that are predictable.

When you are in touch with yourself, you come to recognize which actions you can take that will be a positive contribution and which ones you should be avoiding. From there, it becomes a matter of free will to choose which road to travel.

Thanks for your insights, here, Marcus.

    • The one thing I believe that everyone forgets at times is that we are apart of nature, and with that we are ruled by the same laws as everything else. So yes with every decision, action, and movement we will cause something else to happen. When it comes to dealing with other people the response may not be physical, but something will heppen due to the stimulus that we have created. So yes learning which actions that we choose to make will cause what kind of effect is very important to know.
A lot of times we have to make mistakes to learn which actions are better then other, but aleast we learn and that is a big part of living life. So when life comes full circle and the situation comes back around you will have the hidesight to have insight to manage that situation better then you did before. Thank you for your point of view, and hope you will stop by again. TTYL

  124. We spend so much of our time trying to figure out everyone else, that we forget about the most important person in our life.

I could not agree more! I think its a very nice book! Lately I have been very preoccupied with my friends life that I dont get to ask my self if i am okay. I am so busy figuring out some one elses life while I have issues about myself too. This post inspires me to take a me time! and follow what you have said above.

    • The one think that I always try to remember is if you are not happy you cannot make anyone else happy. So doing maintence on yourself first is not a selfish action it is a important one. It is a good thing to be there for others, but you cannot lose yourself in their lives so much that you lose track of your own. I will be the first person to tell you I am guilty of doing that myself. Nice to hear from you again, TTYL

  125. Marcus,
this sounds like science fiction when you dig deeper into the fundamentals. I feel your book will be fascinating to read.

Marcus, you have a subject matter that needs to be broken into bite size portions for most readers to grasp. I understand the clarity of knowing one’s self.

All our lives are based on actions. Some done without due diligence which is human nature. We sometimes learn before repeating the same actions praying for a different out come. That will never happen. That is just crazy, period.

Now, we have this learning one’s self. If you do not understand yourself based on something happens and your reaction is the same. There is some clarification that goes deeper than any book will resolve. Some people such as us Vets that saw wartime. We deal in a real live reactions. You must do this or this will happen. We had people lives in our hands. We gave orders that cost lives on both ends. We learn to adapt by communicating with like minded people who experience the same situations.

I will not learn about myself if I do not accept my actions and move on. It’s not that simple as to who I am. I know that and what I am able to do. I do not live with limitations in my mind. I know there are unlimited ways of getting everything done. So there is no failure only if I give up and not stay the path to get things done.

Mapping is utilize in various situations and easy to master if you apply it to areas in your life. Being able to know yourself is simple. Look in the mirror and see how you look. Ask those who are in your life how they think about you in all situations. They will respond to how you reacted in given situations. That is not who you are.

I am a husband of 18 years with a loving wife. I am a persistent father of one son who is 33 years old. I am a retired federal employee who always has his own business for over 27 years. I am a servant of others in our communities and globally. I am the Vice Commander of post 1758. I am a loving son, and supportive brother of two siblings. I am a human being willing to serve with a servant’s heart. The needs of all without excepting anything in return.

There for I know who William Earl Amis, Jr. III is without mapping and it works for those in the normal world of non-combat living. My lifestyle is one few have and will ever achieve. Each person has a unique life and should embrace who they are.

Marcus, this is an awesome post and one I wait to see more responses. Thanks for sharing and keep us thinking out of the box. Your a great visionary in our industry and one I will be following from this point on.

    • Nice to haer from you again William,
There is no dought in my mind that you are a very accomplished man and a piller to the people around you. You just have to rememeber that their are others that hit road blocks in their life, make the wrong decisions, and just get caught up in their daily life. With these people they can become detech and argumentive if confronted about their life because they will feel like they are being attack or judged.
So what I try to give them is a tool to help them help them selves , by seeing for them selves. They can do it at their own time and at their own pase. Even I have to reflect from time to time. Every one can look in the mirror and see who they are , or tell you what they have done. But understanding what makes them tick and why they choose to do so is a whole different level, thank you for stoping by it is always great conversing with you. TTYL

  126. Sounds like an interesting book, Marcus. I don’t know who designed the cover, but it seems to me to be a picture of how complicated we are. When YOU look at the picture, it probably makes a lot more sense than it does to me, just as when GOD looks at us, He knows perfectly well what each image and symbol means. He sorts through it all at a glance, and can make sense of my life if I look to Him to explain it and show me what doesn’t need to be there.

I know that isn’t what your book is about either, but that’s what it made me think of… and I just thought I’d share.

    • Hello Willena, I hope you been doing well.
Thank you for your comment, the publisher did ensure me that the cover will look way better then that, it is just a rough draft. As for being complex, yes we are. At is why taking the time out to map your own personality is a very helpful exercise. Also when you read about the different states of being, it really does get you to start thinking about yourself. I have found that when we slow down and start to look inward we start to form a better relationship we our selves. Please do not over think about social math or social mathematics the book itself has really nothing to do with them. It really is all about showing others how to be more aware of themselwes without selling them a $200 doller program. So when it comes out please pick one up and let me know what you think about it. It really is a fun book. Thank you for stopping by. and if you have any questions about anything please let me know.

  127. Seems like a great book socialmath. We really have to learn what we’re all about before we know how to communicate with others. It helps when we learn about emotions and you seem like you have a really interesting view on the subject. Looking forward to learning more about it. Have a wonderful; day my friend.

    Rick Salas

    • Hey Rick,
Thank you for stopping by. Just to let you know the book itself is not about social math, but do explains a little about it. It really is all about learning how to map out your personality. It is a great personal tool to use. It will get you thinking so much about yourself and your life. It makes you ask yourself some really great question and because no one else is around, you can really answer yourself honestly.
Every step that I write about in this book are steps I had to take myself. The one thing I do tell people is that everything likes good on paper, but when comes down to it, YOU have to do it. This book is all about gettig YOU to get YOURSELF out of the dugout and up to the batter position. If you strike out, YOU just strike out but at least you took a swing. The more YOU go for the swing the better YOU will get at it. One day YOU will hit that home run, but before that can even happen. YOU have to get on the field. Thank you again for stopping by, hope to see you again. – TTYL
